As the largest economy on earth, the United States is a key source of commercial partnerships for New Zealand, and we share a long and trusted history of trade and investment for the benefit of both countries.
Two-way trade between the United States and New Zealand reached NZ$17.8 billion in 2018, including NZ$8.5 billion of New Zealand goods and services exports to US customers.
The United States is also New Zealand’s third-largest source of imports, and our second-largest destination for investment.

Hannah Lee-Darboe
New York
Hannah Lee-Darboe is New Zealand’s Trade Commissioner and Consul General in New York, where she is responsible for promoting and facilitating trade opportunities and strategic relationships for New Zealand companies on the United States’ East Coast.
Since joining NZTE in 2013, Hannah has led the design and development of NZTE policy, culture and values and played an important role in launching ‘The Customer Way’, NZTE’s process for partnering with New Zealand exporters.
Hannah has a background in marketing, strategy and business improvements. She previously held prominent roles at Mizuno, Icebreaker, and Education New Zealand, working in Japan, Europe and New Zealand.
Hannah is fluent in Japanese and holds a degree in International Law from Kobe University, Japan.
